Stumbled across these pretty neat little flash drives by mimoco based on your favorite Star Wars characters… I want the Darth Vader one…

It’s not the official day we incorporated or anything, that’s for September, but today is the day we officially filed to form Period Three, LLC way back in 2003. Its hard to believe when you think of the adversity and how far we’ve come since then.
Take a look at this picture, this was our first server, we aptly dubbed him “wee-man”, he ran our first client’s system and performed like a champ. At least until the cleaning staff accidentally unplugged him. Sheesh…
Humble beginnings. Here’s to good times ahead! (and keep those fingers crossed…)

Don Herbert, known by all as Mr. Wizard, passed away today at 89. If you were at least slightly nerdy and grew up in the 80’s and had cable, Mr. Wizard was probably one of your favorite shows. It was definitely one of mine and he inspired countless children with the wonders and fun of science. And also lighting things on fire. Obituary and Metafilter thread.

This is just terrible. Check out the three finialists for the licenseplate competiton (you can also vote on your favorite one…) here in the home state of good old South Carolina. They have got to be just about the worst examples of design I have seen in a good while. Maybe back in 1995 1992 1989 these would have been okay, but my oh my.

Hat tip Andrew for the link

Reports are abound about the next Pixar movie after this summer’s Ratatouille. It’s a tale about the Mars (or some planet) rover “Wall-E”. Scheduled for 2008. Yep, basically I love anything Pixar does almost as much as Apple…
WALL-E, from Academy Award-winning director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo), is scheduled for release June 2008.

I stumbled across this really nifty little application for the Mac that will take a full screen shot in one click. No more splicing those long page screen shots together again. Go snag it, heck its a free download too.

From Wikipedia, “In Poland, traditionally, early in the morning boys awake girls by pouring a bucket of water on their head and strike them about the legs with long thin twigs or switches made from willow, birch or decorated tree branches (palmy wielkanocne). However, the earliest documented records of Dyngus Day in Poland are from the 15th century…”
So, dump a bucket of water on a co-worker!

I ran across this nifty little web-app. Really it’s pretty cool. You can call yourself and leave yourself a reminder, the system then transcribes it and sends it to you as an email, you can then also listen to the audio if you want. I actually do this sort of thing, that is call my cellphone and leave myself a voice mail as a reminder, the problem is I often forget to check my messages in a timely fashion so my plan for a reminder doesn’t work out so well…
